I am restoring a YAK in USA but am not a US national. I want to register it
with FAA but cannot do so in my name under FAA Regs. Has anybody a
suggestion how I can solve this at an reasonable price. I do have a Montana
Company but FAA says the Company must have a majority of US citizen
directors. Thanks.

Jay,
I think what you may be referring to are some of the modifications being done to
M-14's where the pistons AND the rings are being replaced. In this case, the
new piston design has tighter tolerances and uses "gapless rings" which results
in greatly reduced oil burn.
Not aware of anyone using a stock piston and just replacing the rings with a newer
type.
Also not aware of anyone putting major redesign effort into the Housai, although
the same concept would surely work.
Best Regards,
Mark Bitterlich

Hi all.
Anyone out there have any experience or advice with regards to installing oil control
rings in the standard CJ6 engine?
I understand that there are suitable rings out there being used in the M-14 and
the results are vastly reduced oil burns.

I have had Total Seal rings in my Housai for over a year but they are on

Housai which should be running this month. Bill Blackwell can provide
pistons and rings.

I am finishing up our 1980 18T Sn 22202034100
Does anyone have an air system schematic to match this SN.
I have two manuals neither of which relate exactly to this airframe.
Thanks

Sorry for the off topic post ... not sure where to ask this question:
In CA we pay a property tax on our a/c. Question: is the tax
pro-rated on a daily or monthly basis? So when I reposition my a/c
across county boundaries, do I pay a fraction of a month's tax to one
county, and the remainder to the other?
Thanks and apologies ...

Having owned airplanes of one kind or another for a bunch of years
here in San Diego County, the way it's always worked for me
is....whoever owns/possesses and keeps the airplane in a given county
at mid-night...Dec. 31/Jan 1 pays the tax for the entire coming year.
There are no rebates and, as I understand it, no taxes will be
assessed by another county if the airplane moves there at anytime
during that year. New taxes will be assessed on the following Jan 1
by the new county.
