Heh Ernie, I'd buy it if I could just only: (1) sell my house (2) find enough money for the difference (3) convince my wife to move that far North up in the boonies Seriously folks, Ernie has a great place for a pilot with toys, I know I stayed there a few times. 6000' x 300' of turf runway at Leeward Ranch and plenty of colorful aviation prople. Walt, Short answer: No, I do not think I owe Ernie (or you) an apology and it will not be forthcoming. Long answer: I feel that your response is disturbing as well. Feel free to report my actions if you feel so inclined. I suggest that if you were honestly concerned about the matter, we could have talked about it off-line, but here we are anyway. So let's just yank Pandora's Box wide open. I do not own this list server, but I have tried (with a few notable exceptions) to keep away from non-aircraft discussions. Further, there is no "Good Ole Boy" network on the YAK List Walt. RPA maybe, YAK LIST... NO. Guess what? I am also a long time member of the YAK List. More than one YAK List member has publically pointed out TO ME, that what I happened to be talking about should not have been a topic for the YAK list. And guess what? They were right! I stepped over the line... More than once. So if you want to say that this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black, I will agree. I am not lily white and I have screwed up more than once on the YAK list talking about things that had no business being talked about via this forum. For that, I do apologize, fervently and profusely. That said, we have all seen where various members on the YAK list have mentioned or advertised products that they sell for profit. Maybe not MUCH profit (thanks folks), but still a profit. We look the other way on this, because these parts are intended for our aircraft. There is a fine line there. Having been chastised myself, I have developed rather strong feelings about what should and should not be posted to this list. Personally, I think certain postings concerning the RPA go over that line, and have said so personally to the people posting them, but not in public. But some things Walt are so clearly beyond even consideration that it amazes me that anyone would even think of posting them here. Examples are: Selling you car here. Selling your home here. Advertising something not related to our aircraft. ~Selling your real estate~! The list goes on, but is pretty darn obvious. If you feel that my reply to Ernie was out of line, I will be glad to just write up an official complaint about his posting (and my reply) to Matt and let him take it for action. Clearly folks, this is not the place to be selling your real estate. Walt, neither of you will get an apology from me. Instead I will publically admonish anyone who uses the YAK list as a means to sell their personal real estate at any time. Like I said, please feel free to complain to Matt that I said that to all concerned. If he tells me it is OK to advertise real estate on the YAK list, (because maybe a YAK can land on it?) then I will be glad to offer a public apology to you and Ernie. Failing that, I will say that it was a stupid thing to do, Ernie should apologize for doing it, and I don't think he needs you to defend him Walt. As far as I am concerned it is over and done with. You want to run it up the flag pole, you darn well know I will stand behind my guns on an issue like this. Take your best shot, or let it go and be done with it. Your call. Mark Bitterlich -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Walter Lannon Sent: Tuesday, August 11, 2009 11:45 PM Subject: Re: Yak-List: Leeward Home for Sale Mark; I find your response to Ernie's message more than a little disturbing. The message you quote from Ernie "Gee Wizz Air Ranch Home for Sale in Bumstead Fl" is obviously a fake. It is nowhere to be found in the Yak List Archives. The real message was "Leeward Air Ranch Home for sale in Ocala Fl." I would hope that Matt Dralle would look into this and take whatever action is appropriate. Ernie Martinez is a long time, respected, member of this list. he was advising FLYING members that an airport home is for sale. If that was a transgression it was a damn small one and pales in comparison to your own diatribes on muscle cars. You also seem to have no problem with certain other members diatribes on guns and outright political garbage. I believe you owe Ernie a public apology. Walt Lannon

Posts by List members promoting their respective products or items for sale should be of a friendly, informal nature, and should not resemble a typical SPAM message. DO NOT ARCHIVE TO ALL CONCERNED: Ok. I am going to do a 180 degree turn here. I am sometimes less than bright and miss a good thing when I see it. First, Ernie... You're a good guy, I like you, and think the world of you. I mean that. No kidding. You don't have to dislike a person just because you happen to disagree with his viewpoint(s). It was never meant as a personal attack. I mean that. Walt, I think you should have written me off-line, but hey you were protecting your buddy and felt his honor was slighted... If you want to be his "second" at the duel, we're good to go on that. .45's at 12 paces ok? Yes, I read the exact same words you did, but I guess it is all in the interpretation. So... In public I would like to apologize to Walt and to Ernie. You both have my sincere apology. Now... That said: Hey Doc, what do you think about Obama's Health Plan and how it will impact our ability to retain our pilot medical certificates? And Doc, do you think we might no longer be able to carry our handguns from state to state in our YAKS now that that last state carry law was defeated? Yak List Readers: I have a whole list of stuff I was going to put on EBay for sale, but will start here first. Keep your eyes open for good deals. You'll see it here first. I never want to ever... EVER here again how anything being talked about is not a topic for this list server. I also NEVER want to hear again how anything I might put here for sale is inappropriate. We'll start with a box of sex toys I found in an old house next door. Real Antiques. Where do we draw the line? There is no line. And yep.. My tongue is in my cheek. Have a nice day! Also from the rules: "The purpose of the Yak-List is to provide a forum of discussion for things related to this particular discussion group." "Please keep all posts related to the List at some level." "THINK carefully before you write. Ask yourself if your post will be relevant to everyone. If you have to wonder about that, DON'T send it." This is a very useful list for flyers of Yak a/c. Discussions re marines vs air force; immigration; gun control; muscle cars OR REAL ESTATE do not satisfy the criteria for inclusion in the list. DO NOT ARCHIVE I think my Air Park home with an AIRCRAFT HANGAR and a RUNWAY (read airplane related) for sale is just as relevant to this list as is a set of spark plugs or a case of Marvel Mystery Oil or an airplane for sale. You can land (well you can't, you're not invited) yak-list type airplanes, or even host all the RPA planes from Sun & Fun (which has been done for many years) at this air park. Many folks on this list have been to my home, and some have expressed an interest in purchasing said home. I also believe my post was very small, to the point, and I did ask that people not respond to the post on this list, but contact me directly. I think this topic is well worn out. Ernie

Kergg, the damaged "power cable" has a cig. type power plug with a speaker built into it on one end and a very squashed 90 degree male plug in on the other. I basically need something to power up the unit in the aircraft. I thought about going to a good elec shop and matching up the damaged plug but unfortunately there is not enough left of it to ID. Doug, I also have an extra one of those very unusual looking 12-volt adaptors with the in-line speaker that I never use with my 496. Will send you both. When I sold my 396, the buyer did not need power adaptors, so I have several as extras that I will never use. No need to pay me for them. Will send them tomorrow. DO NOT ARCHIVE - - - Roger that Ernie. - I can land a helicopter on my front lawn, so it qualifies as well.-- - My lawn tractor can mow runways, as can my bush-hog... anyone interested? - They're for sale.--My bulldozer was used to MAKE a runway, it also qualifies.- And of course the spare hydraulic hoses are part of the bulld ozer... they're for sale too, as it the hose kit that makes them.- - My ex-wife hated every second of it.- You can have her for free.- In fa ct you might already have.- - This- topic was indeed worn out. Walt fired it up again.- Now you jumpe d on the bandwagon as well.- Go figure.- - Have at it.... as far as I am concerned the next person that tells me-wha t I choose to discuss (or sell) is "off topic" can go straight to your air- park... and purchase same.- :-) - Later dude, - Mark - - - - - - - - --- On Wed, 8/12/09, Ernest Martinez <erniel29@gmail.com> wrote: DO NOT ARCHIVE I think my Air Park home with an AIRCRAFT HANGAR and a RUNWAY (read airplane related) for sale is just as relevant to this list as is a set of spark plugs or a case of Marvel Mystery Oil or an airplane for sale. Ernie
