Subject: | Looking for a YAK-55 flight manual and performance specs for |
is using the M14PF engine
The 55 was never produced with the PF engine,so I doubt that there is any FM
for such a plane.
Having said that I don't see the need for a different manual!
All flight limitations are unchanged, and the only significance is that it
will climb a lot quicker [I assume it has a 3-blade prop,since the V-530
2-blade is at its limit to transmit 360hp] ,and a little faster, but not much
with all that drag.
Cruise speed for the same consumption will go up a bit,but only at high
altitude.

Chris,Do the easy stuff first, check the brushes and all wiring, especially
where the wires connect to the voltage regulator (if you have the old style
reg). Not normally a problem with the solid state regs as they have a
cannon plug connection.

We do know him. This plane sat out in front of Selby's for over a year
essentially abandoned.

G'Day All,
We are busy rebuilding a M14P.
Have the drive gears to the supercharger exposed.
I understand that to step up to 400 H.P. is only matter of changing the
drive gears to the super charger.
Can someone please verify or correct this and if this is so, where would
I buy the gears etc to enable this mob to be done.
Thanks,
Chris
