Pretty much the same thing. FWIW, the seals in the CJ hub are identical
to the seals in the Yak 52/Yak 18T prop hub (V530).

Gang,
For those of you waiting to hear more about the Yak-52 installation of
our rudder pedal brackets...here's another testimonial...unedited.
++++
Flew my 52 this weekend with the new rudder mod installed. All I can
tell you is WOW what a difference. I know have much more leg room.
That was money and time well spent. I would be glad to testify about
all aspects of the mod. I only have one clearance issue. This is
causing my big left foot to hit something on the firewall when
depressing full left rudder. I will retrain my foot position on the
pedal. This will fix this issue.
You might look into sending the other 2 replacement bolt/nuts in the
mod. Mine were so badly gaulded in the hole that we had hell removing
them. I had to find replacement nuts (borrowed from the life flight
people on the field). It would have been great had I already had
replacement bolts for those too.
I would rate this mod very good over all! Keep up the good work.
Edwin C.
++++
Per Edwin's advice, we will now be sending both the AN bolts for the
rear and the metric bolts for the front in our kits. Price is $250/set.
Please contact me directly for more information or to order.
Thanks,
Barry

G'Day Walt,
Thank's for that.
Have many manuals, a lot in Russian with many drawings etc and could not
find the torque settings for prop clamps.
Will probably look for something else today and the settings will jump
out of the page.
Cheers,
Chris.

Rich,I use Amprobe, but what ever type you get make sure it comes with a
head set. bought mine on Ebay for about $150.00.
Food for thought:
Recently my old enough to vote refer in the house died. It was discovered
to have a tiny leak in the condenser coil. A weeks delivery time and
$600.00 later we again had cold beer and all was good. During the $85.00
per hour house call to diagnose it's problem I watched the tech (at 85.00
per you can call yourself a tech!) pressurize the system then take a
"squealer" type sniffer and sniff out the problem, when it got within a foot
of the leak it started to make a soft churp, as we got closer it began to
screech. Just for fun I went to the shop and got my Ultrasonic unit. I
could not detect the leak. Rather I could have detected it @ 45 atms
pressure I don't know, but I was pretty impressed. I described our trials
and tribulations with the Yaks and CJs and he indicated that it would work
very well to find even the smallest leaks which would not be audible even
with the ultrasonic detector. I am in the process of building up a filler
attachment to use to add the refrigerant gas to the pneumatic system.

I looked into this.
My observation was that the freon that you can get from the auto parts stor

As these tachs are driven by the p-lead (not by a signal from our tach gens), I
see no reason why you'd have a problem with two (one front, one back). Use shielded
wire and make sure you have shield continuity with the p-lead shield and
keep any exposure of the unshielded wire (when making connections) as short
as possible. The p-lead signal is full of high frequency components which will
cause noise unless shielded.
Also, note the company spokesperson I talked to said one was in TEST on a Wilga
(M-14P, or as he said...."one of those Russian engines."). He was not sure if
the current model will work with a radial. He did say the company was committed
to making a model that would work for radials.
It is usually a programming issue to resolve the number of pulses per revolution.
Most manufacturers only plan on engines with an even number of cylinders (how
dare they!).

Subject: Yak-List: ultrasonic leak detectors
Does anyone on the list use an ultrasonic leak detector for finding vacuum
leaks and, if so, do you recommend a certain brand or model? I have a small
leak I can not find . Thanks
Rich

Anyone have the Termikas fabricated smoke system installed? I am flying
a 52TD with their system and it works quite well. I have no
documentation, however (capacity - which I have figured pretty close,
type of pump, pressures, etc.). Any information would be greatly
appreciated.
BTW - it is plumbed into both stacks and makes lots of smoke - a good
portion of which ends up in the cockpit. I am gap sealing everything
imaginable!
