If using a B&C Alternator has anyone put a blast air tube to it for cooling?
Is this necessary?

Terry,
Rather you install a small scoop and 1.5 inch scat (which is cheaper) or
install the cut vanes and blast tubes from the shutters aft, it should be
cooled to assure max life out of it.

Terry,
On my CJ I used the cooling tube that was used to cool the old Generator. it's
already there and pointing the right direction.
I think blast air cooling would be helpful for the alternator.

Terry, I have a B&C on my CJ with no cooling scat to it. No signs of failure
for 12 years. {voltage regulator did go}.

Hi Terry,
-
B&C Alternator on a Yak-55 no problems except for the the voltage regulator
, it needs to go in the inside of the firewall other wise it will cook. (Ha
ppened last summer).
