No more talk! I'm tired of hearing who has the best CJ. So, who has the Top
CJ?
El Numero Uno, the Big Tuna, King Kong? Changzilla? Many have well over
100HP
over stock, Really Big Props, side exhaust, Malcom hoods, etc, etc.
Top CJ-6? Obviously we have those that GO, those that Show, and some that
Show &
GO. There is only one way to sort this out...a shootout! Mano 'y Mano. A
really
big one. Problem is that we are scattered all over the US and Canada.
If not this year, maybe next, certainly before 2012 ends. A purse you say?
Certainly, some entry fee to sweeten the pot is in order. Sponsors? Perhaps.
Under 175KTAS in level flight need not apply, save your money for old age or
buy
a Yak. What say ye Men of Honor? Soar with Eagles or Buzz with Buzzards?

If you REALLY want to be cool about it, talk to the Reno Air Racing

Hello Craig (sound of knocking) This thing on?? My post (below) from
yesterday received no answer, so here it is again. I'm ready to race, jut
need to know the rules.
Craig,
So let me get this straight:
Any CJ no matter of the added flavoring?
A speed dash?
And your willing to match any cash amount in a winner takes all race? It's
gotta be worth while, or no one will be interested.
You have me interested, let us all know if we are on the same page.

No more talk! I'm tired of hearing who has the best CJ. So, who has the
Top CJ?
El Numero Uno, the Big Tuna, King Kong? Changzilla? Many have well over
100HP
over stock, Really Big Props, side exhaust, Malcom hoods, etc, etc.
Top CJ-6? Obviously we have those that GO, those that Show, and some
that Show &
GO. There is only one way to sort this out...a shootout! Mano 'y Mano. A
really
big one. Problem is that we are scattered all over the US and Canada.
If not this year, maybe next, certainly before 2012 ends. A purse you
say?
Certainly, some entry fee to sweeten the pot is in order. Sponsors?
Perhaps.
Under 175KTAS in level flight need not apply, save your money for old
age or buy
a Yak. What say ye Men of Honor? Soar with Eagles or Buzz with Buzzards?
(sorry
Yakistas, I still love y'all like step-children)

I have what looks to be a brand new TAN FLIGHT SUIT in 48L...free (but you pay
shipping).
As in the past, you have to properly answer 2 questions:
What is the length of the rifling twist in the barrel of a USAF GAU-2C mini-gun
AND twist ratio (eg. 1:7..and no its is NOT 1:7)
Good luck!

Probably slower than the T6 class. Can you see a Yak 52 or CJ that is as
stock as the winning Gold or silver T6 getting to their speeds? 230mph?
What a fun class to watch though!

Subject: | More Big Blowout |
OK, sorry to ruffle the down feathers on my Yakkista friends. I really don't want
to see a get together without them. Just a race and subsequent "debrief" would
be a waste of expensive Avgas without ancillary activities. Activities like
All Red Star has...but such event seems more like "All Left Coast Red Star".
Perhaps something more centralized at a time and place where severe weather is
not the expected forecast. Any suggestions?
As far a pure speed goes, if all I wanted in an airplane was speed, I could build
another Cassutt with a big motor. Point is, CJ's (and Yaks) are fun airplanes
and a little competition sweetens the fun. Just flying formation gets old after
a while.
No I'm not interested in big bets, $100 each in the pot is plenty. I'll probably
end up spending $600 in gas just to get there and back. I Expect to get beat
so Pappy, save your money for beer and Avgas. But, how you put a price on Bragging
Rights and Glory??
No way would Reno want us, CJ's/Yaks are too slow, too small and especially too
quiet to be crowd pleasers, even on the short course.
One other point...Doug, I'm talking about the CJ-6, not a pumped up -5. Apples
to Apples and Oranges to Oranges.

No Craig, I most likely wont live long enough to finish my 5 the way I'm
going-- I have been at it 6 + years now, the flower business in the toilet
does not lend it'self to lots of time off. But that business is about
closed now so I can see some light at the end of the tunnel.
My question was/is strictly limited to CJ6's, no matter what the hp, no
matter what the mods, you will race with no excuses, winner takes all.
Correct? Or are there restrictions? as you say "inquiring minds want to
know"

Thanks for clearing that up.
Now I will have the engineer stop crunching numbers to mount a
J85-GE-21B under my Yak-52.
It would have been interesting when I kicked in the Afterburner!
