I do not know much about the 18T fuel system so that is why I ask the question. There is a great article by Gil Hayes in the Fall RPA magazine on installing the fuel bladders in the YAK-52. Are the bays in the 18T the same size? If so, then the RU design bureau has signed off on the instillation of bladders in the 52 for EU use. Why would that not work for the 18T? You have the choice of a single 180 litre tank each side which is not great from the position of quantity measure ment. The better solution is a separate 85 litre tank in each wing with a separate filler and a non-return valve between the two. BUT either means that you have to compromise the strength of the wing and this strength has to be replaced. Also, all has to be done in a proper wing-jig to keep the wing straight. So not a job to be done at home!!
