Hey Guys=0A=0ASome time ago my son Ed Davis and I mounted a digital video c
amera above the instrument panel ala gunsight of a Syndicate Yak 52, ZK JPW
here in New Zealand. We then flew for an hour from Ashburton and took vide
os while aerobating in the mountains just south of Mount Hutt. Ed then edit
ed the video and set it to music by JACOB. The result can be found at:=0A

So the mount is the same one on the VR Hold Website, as you can see in this
picture, it will hold up on the outside of the plan..
The camera weighs 3 oz, so it is not a problem, the mount in 4 x that.. but
still has no problem. I have put +6.5 and only -2 on it, but have had no
problems
It is a pretty strong mount.. but like I said, the camera is not heavy..

Looks great. Tell me more about the mount - that looks like it is different
than the camera. And it stays put in the windstream? And with pos / neg
G's?
I like it alot. I just would not want to lose it. I don't think I'd take
my GPS mount and put it out there :)

I have both Lipstick cameras feeding into mux then tapedeck and the one
listed below that McGirt has. I prefer the one like McGirt with the
exception of not being able to record the audio in from the headsets.

Mark, I have recently started using this little guy.. 1080p , and EXTREMELY

it was on the COWL of #3 of Aeroshell during the night show.. it will stay
anywhere you put it..

What is everyone using for small video equipment as either a helmet
camera mount or gun camera mount? I'm not looking for anything to make
professional videos with, just something to record formation/extended
trail/maybe a little ACM then analyze under the influence of cold beverages
afterward. An audio input would be nice but not a necessity. Durability,
ease of operation in the cockpit and size/weight are the most important
things I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Mark Davis

Dave,
Are you telling me you place that camera on your wing with a suction cup mount?
I can't believe it will stay put?!
What card do you have and what is your record time as you have to start the camera
on the ground and then go fly?

That is correct Keith.
As for recording @ 1080p , I am getting about 1.2-1.4GB per hour, so it just
depends on the card ( it comes with a 2GB card), but will take up to 32GB
Mini SD

Dave,
That was a gutsy move trying that for the first time! I don't own that mount but
I think I may try to use a small hole in my wing that is plugged with a plastic
cap. I have access to securing the mount I have in that spot through the wheel
well.
Also think I'll get a 4 gig card as well.
I really like that wing location!

Keith
