We then flew for an hour from Ashburton and took vide os while aerobating in the mountains just south of Mount Hutt. Ed then edit ed the video and set it to music by JACOB. The camera weighs 3 oz, so it is not a problem, the mount in 4 x that.. but still has no problem. I have put +6.5 and only -2 on it, but have had no problems It is a pretty strong mount.. but like I said, the camera is not heavy.. Tell me more about the mount - that looks like it is different than the camera. And it stays put in the windstream? And with pos / neg G's? I like it alot. I just would not want to lose it. I don't think I'd take my GPS mount and put it out there :) Herb On Apr 27, 2010, at 1:10 PM, David McGirt wrote: Some pictures of the camera I am using.. http://picasaweb.google.com/dmcgirt/021509TWHDCameraPIcs# From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Terry Calloway Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2010 7:43 AM Subject: Re: Yak-List: Cockpit mounted video cameras I have both Lipstick cameras feeding into mux then tapedeck and the one listed below that McGirt has. I prefer the one like McGirt with the exception of not being able to record the audio in from the headsets. I'm not looking for anything to make professional videos with, just something to record formation/extended trail/maybe a little ACM then analyze under the influence of cold beverages afterward. An audio input would be nice but not a necessity. Durability, ease of operation in the cockpit and size/weight are the most important things I'm looking for. As for recording @ 1080p , I am getting about 1.2-1.4GB per hour, so it just depends on the card ( it comes with a 2GB card), but will take up to 32GB Mini SD David -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of keithmckinley Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2010 12:38 PM Subject: Yak-List: Re: Cockpit mounted video cameras Dave, Are you telling me you place that camera on your wing with a suction cup mount? I don't own that mount but I think I may try to use a small hole in my wing that is plugged with a plastic cap. I have access to securing the mount I have in that spot through the wheel well. Also think I'll get a 4 gig card as well. I really like that wing location!
