From: "Pete Fowler" Thanks for all the responses. Now that I realize that the side panels are spot-welded to the stringers, the "dents" make much more sense as the natural distortion that would be caused by spot-welding that large of a panel of aluminum to that many stringers. If anyone has access to the serial number article, can you confirm that mine's a 1966? -------- N4183E http://nanchangcjs.yuku.com/ Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=297180#297180 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 11:44:56 AM PST US Subject: Re: Yak-List: Re: How old is too old? From: cjpilot710@aol.com You can find the entire list in the Spring issue 2007 of RedAlert. Between Sept 1965 and May 1967, 6 batches of CJ were built. Each batch co ntained 50 aircraft. The batch numbers started with #13 though #18. 4 ai rcraft in those batches (15-40 &41 and 17-49&50) went to the Cambodian ai rforce. The rest were sent to the PLAF. The first 2 digests in your number is the batch number. Hope that helps. Pete, You should still be able to go onto the RPA website and get the digital magazine in archives. Click on Red Alert and then archived copies. It goes all the way back to spring 2007.
