Thanks guys
Found the mag spring on top of the cigarette was corroded and the tension
was not enough.
Problem gone!!! Fantastic.
Still have a fair bit of clicking from the number one mag. This must be a
lead breaking down. Question: which mag (left or right) is the number one mag??
Thanks all for your help. This has been an on going and a bit of a frustrating
problem. Really glad it was a simple fix
Cheers

At last my 18t in nearing its rebuild here in Franklin VA (and will be for sale
due to our return to Europe). We still need following parts if anyone can help?
U/c strut adapter metric to US for recharging nitrogen
Small clear lamp lens on U/c strut
Original Yak lower shoulder front seat harnesses (4)
Turnbuckle bolt (LH/RH threads) that secures the wing root fairing (same as one
that secures strap on large air bottle)

I have answered my own question as far as USA is concerned by searching FAA web
site. There are apparently 14 Yak 18t's in USA - one is listed as just a Yak
18.

Vladimir Yastremski has 4 at Ramona, CA. No, he's sold one of them....now would
have 3 there. The 4th one is down at Gillespie Field in El Cajon.
Bruce Merrifield has his (N198AK) up at French Valley, CA.

Don't assume the Yak 18 is a Yak 18T. It may in fact be a Yak 18A.

First of all if you take your sales pitch to your own thread...not appropriate.
Here's the final deal on the ContourHD. It has what's called a rolling shutter.
A quick view of the description of this on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_shutter
and you'll realize that this camera is indeed a "toy" as a previous poster mentioned
on the other thread.
I don't have much hope for quality video using an exterior mount on an airplane.....
