5.4 ounces, that's after they have been painted, weighed and the lighter
blade repainted to bring up to the weight of the heavier one. Garry Pope

Subject: | Re: Contour HD video (1080p) |
Before you buy, consider where most of your footage will end up...the movie theater,
HD TV, internet? I am willing to be the internet. Base your choice of camera
on that...not just the term HD.
Here is a shot of me doing a hoist into the Pave Hawk. NOW...you will be surprised
how slowly the rotor blades turn on a helo..not nearly as fast as any airplane.
Keep that in mind. This was shot with the VIO POV.1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ukj_W-Agko&playnext_from=TL&videos=a_48sDb210U
Here is another video shot by a friend of mine in Afghanistan. At the end of the
video is a shot from the refueling probe of the helicopter looking aft. It was
shot with a VHOLDR camera..did not turn out too bad...but to my knowledge,
this video never went beyond in the internet. He was not overly impressed with
the little camera. Not really that rugged.
The POV's that we use have been mounted all over the helicopter and have all performed
well. They have been mounted on both weapon systems (.50 and mini) and
the vibration was minimal. We fly in a very dusty environment and most recently
rain, and the camera head AND body were exposed to the weather...just chugged
along.
Again, I think you for this groups purposes, the VHOLDR is not the camera.
If you have any questions or want some more info on the VIO camera, drop me a note.
I will be happy to answer them.

Oops needed to add a link for the VHOLDR helo footage..again, its at the end if
you want to skip the rest of the footage.

By the way..technically, 720p resolution IS HD.
