What is the purpose for the sensors behind the instrument panel, connected
to the pitot system? Low airspeed or overspeed sensors? I have one that
seems to be a clog in the system keeping the airspeed indicator from
working. Any help is appreciated.

The Chinese air start valve is the QDF-1. I'm told that the Yak uses the same valve
but not having a Yak available, I can't say from personal experience. Does
anyone have an interest in getting their spare valve rebuilt? Not just the seals
but a stainless steel "bottom" inlet where all the trouble starts. I'm thinking
of setting up do do several.
Let me know off-list if you are interested, no certain cost at this time but the
end result should result in a longer lasting unit than the original.

The pitot and static lines going to the front instrument panel are
connected to the disabling solenoids which are controlled by the
disabling switches in the rear cockpit. You can reroute the hoses
connected to the solenoids going to the airspeed indicator. Look for
the black and white 6 mm lines on the left side of the fuselage with the
rubber hoses connected to them that go to the disabling solenoids.
These lines run vertically behind the left side panel. Bypass the two
solenoids with new 1/4" or 6 mm ID rubber hoses and go directly to the
airspeed indicator.
One word of caution if you still have the original Russian VSI in the
front cockpit. When you eliminate all of the disabling solenoids the
Russian VSI will not function properly because it has a second hose
connected to it which goes to the bleed off capillary in the instrument.
The rear VSI does not have the second hose going to it even though the
face of the instruments look identical.
Hope this helps.
Dennis
