Glad you "convinced" them they can not just arbitrarily rewrite your OL's. The Administrator may issue special operating limitations for particular aircraft to permit takeoffs and landings to be conducted over a densely populated area or in a congested airway, in accordance with terms and conditions specified in the authorization in the interest of safety in air commerce. They propose to do this with a (r) revision to my existing limitations, supposedly being sure that the airworthiness certificate still retains the original 1991 date (and I'm going to be sure that no language implies that my operating limitations have been "re-issued" thus creating the possibility that some future FSDO could say "oh they were issued in 2010, it's no longer pre-moratorium". Not sure the point of this but they seem to be within their rights to do it. CALL THE EAA AND TALK TO THEIR GOVT. AFFAIRS REPRESENTATIVE. Do it now. Don't pass go or collect $200. These folks gave me accurate information, advised me what to put in a letter to the FAA, gave me contacts to Aviation Lawyers (for free no less) and MUCH more. Long discussion: Deleted. Enough said. Desiccant plugs in the spark plug holes is also a good idea. They are available from Spruce, but like any desiccant tool it is useless if not monitored on a regular basis. Exhaust port plugs should be installed if you have them. Check in your Tech Spec manual, I think I recall some storage guidelines there. Good luck, Doug On Wed, Jun 16, 2010 at 8:32 PM, wrote: > We are acquiring a backup Housi 285 that will be put in storage for some > time. Mine is pretty corroded inside, to the point where it's unfixable. Thanks for any help.
