The 15 tooth spline is the low gear gear case. It's designed to accommodate a large dia prop. Depending on your size of boat, which you failed to mention, I would have to say that a 14.25 X 17 thru 15 X 17 would be your best bet. Now if you have a bass boat, the 13.5 dia.would be the correct choise, but the 17 pitch would leave lot's to be desired hence that pitch is for standard applications. That's a 1977 by the way. How big is your boat ?......................What you are describing is the length of the barrel.wrong thrust washer or just the wrong prop. If it were mine I would put a UN200PTC3R17S-3 with the UN087 thrust washer on there. But being you are the E bay shopper, I would suggest crossing over the #'s that I have described, for a more affordable application. That be a 14.25 X 17 for a 4.75 gear case. Glad to help. Good luck. ----------------------------------- Income Protection Insurance (http://www.guardianinsurance.com.au/Income-Protection-Insurance.aspx)| Life Insurance Quotes (http://www.guardianinsurance.com.au/Life-Insurance-Quote.aspx) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=309611#309611

Ciao yakkisti! We have this problem ... operating the propeller controls in the cockpit the propeller speed is not properly responding. For transfer flight we normally fly with the prop at 64% to save fuel, sometimes we fly at 59%.Using the prop command now it is not possible to set properly the speed. This happens in a random way, sometimes it is ok sometimes it limit our control onto the aircraft. We checked oil quantity and oil pressure an they are good.We did NOT checked if there are boring in the oil, but the warning light it is OFF.we have already checked the command line, from the cockpit lever to the pins over the governor, all this seems ok.the engine itself is running in a perfect way.No high temperature no particular problems.we have a small leakage of oil on the top of the mast of the propeller (since last december)but this is not a big deal.Another strange aspect we do not know if it is correlated is about the minimum speed on the ground:with maximum prop and minimum throttle the engine remains over 30%.we are thinking that it might be a problem on the oil duct bringing oil from the engine to the governor;i think that the problem is in the duct or in the governor itself.we are wondering if it is safe to fly in this condition Thanks for your help! 2010/8/21, qaz11 <sinkar88@gmail.com>: > > The 15 tooth spline is the low gear gear case.
