Gang, Thought you might find this interesting...I sure did. ;) +++++++++ Hi Barry, Just dropping a line with a PIREP on your ignition wire set. I installed them while we were grounded for air races and since that time I've flown the aircraft on 2 cross country flights, lot's of local and on a 5 hour search mission in the mountains. The engine used to be a hard start when cold, now starts on 3 -4 blades and very little air. The engine is running smoother and I've noticed that on cross country flying I'm able to lean more than before. I use fuel flow to set up cruise and I can lean back another gallon /hour without getting the cylinders hot. Performing mag checks in flight there is no noticeable difference as one mag is switched off/on. I wouldn't have expected this much difference as my engine was running pretty smooth before, but needless to say ...I'm a happy camper. Thanks, Walt Murphy Reno,NV +++++ Thanks, Walt! And if you prime it just right and put it on the compression stroke, it goes even better... http://gallery.me.com/bdogltd#100260 8) Happy Flying (and starting!) Thank you to the dozen or so who volunteered to ferry my CJ. I almost went with a Nigerian who promised to pay ME one million United States Dollars for the privilege of flying it. But, in the end Scott Andrews was able to resolve a mess of FAA red tape and deliver it to California ahead of the rain. -------- Mike Bell Elk Grove, CA avbell2(at)comcastdotnet Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=317467#317467
