Subject: | Re: cnc cutting for inst panel |
I did this a number of years ago. I had drawn up a panel in AutoCad, and
a local shop (now out of business) cut the panels that Doug sells. The
programing of the cnc took about 4 hours, the actual cutting took :30 minutes.
Really fascinating to watch! The fit and finish is perfect.
However I had believe I have that file around anymore. Although I still
do a lot of cad drawing its for fun.

Can anyone recommend a shop that is familiar with our instruments (CJ-6)
and would likely have a stock CAD file they could manpulate. I have a blank
panel from Doug that I'd like cut.
I know I can cut the holes myself but the CNC machine does a MUCH nicer
job!

year.
Contact me off list for examples.

I had two different front panels custom cut for my CJ now.- CAD and water
jet is the way to go if available to you.- fantastic job and tight toler
ances are achieved.

I designed Adrian Cooper's panel in AutoCAD and had it laser cut. Laser cutter
programming took about a half an hour, and the actual laser cutting was about
90 seconds. Page one of the attached pdf is the layout, and page two is fresh
out of the laser cutter.
