This is the end for the Schrader valve. http://www.aircraft-tool.com/shop/detail.aspx?PRODUCT_ID=SK2043C Actually you should remove the valve core because it is very likely it is not a high pressure check valve to begin with. Plus you don't need it since the system is already protected with check valves. I meant to say, "it is not a high pressure valve core". Dennis On 4/6/2011 6:15 AM, A. Doc, Do I really need the stage 1 of the regulator or just a connection to the s cuba yoke? I would think that I would be using the high pressure off the st age 1, for the low pressure is only about 130 psi. So if I'm using the high pressure port, then I should be able to remove the stage 1 and connect the hose directly to the tank. While I was typing this, I just got an email from Precision Avionics. They have this for $50. Looks like I can attach a hose to the end and then to a Schrader gooseneck. Thoughts? That will fit the yolk on th e scuba tank. I have forgotten the size of the fittings you need for the hi gh pressure line from the stage 1 to the screwed valve. All I use on my YAK-55 is the scuba yoke. When you fill the bottle the pressure relief valve will prevent any damage due to over pressure. With practice you can fill it up and not waste much scuba air at all. You should not have a valve core in your schrader fitting, the check valve on the firewall serves the necessary check function. I went to a scuba shop and picked up a used yoke and had an 1/8th inch national pipe thread drilled and tapped. In all my cost for yoke, custom high pressure hose (4500 psi) from a hydraulic shop and Schrader adapter was under $50. Looking at it, you are correct, there is no valve core. thanks -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Gill Gutierrez Sent: Wednesday, April 06, 2011 12:15 PM Subject: RE: Yak-List: Looking to create a scuba to schrader hose You should not have a valve core in your schrader fitting, the check valve on the firewall serves the necessary check function.
