Subject: | Re: Engine Primer |
If the fuel is coming out of the primer pump around the knurled nut and
the shaft of the pump, it may very well be the flat O-ring on the end of
the pump. Easy to replace and readily available. Loosen the knurled
nut. Turn the primer handled to the left and extract the pump. You
will see the flat O-ring on the end of the shaft. I'm sure Doug has them
in stock.

Anybody have a suggestion for where to get an experimental data plate for e
ngraving that doesn't include the "BUILT BY" stuff?
I went to Sporty's and Aircraft Spruce and searched with Google pretty hard
but I can't find a simple "AIRFRAME MANUFACTURE DATA" plate that doesn't i
nclude "BUILT BY".
Thanks=2C

Tom,
You can cut a rectangular piece of aluminum, drill a hole in each corner for rivets
and have a local trophy shop laser engrave the information with the lettering
in black. This is what I had done, with the following text:
China Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing
Peoples Republic of China
Aircraft Model: CJ-6A
Date of Manufacture: June, 1983
Serial Number: 3932010
Simple and looks very nice.

Tom,
Mis-typed... the plate should be thin stainless steel rather than
aluminum. This is actually what I have.

You really don't want aluminum data placards. The reason being is the
aluminum melting temperature is less than half of what the melting point
is for stainless steel. God forbid you have a fire, at least the data
plate has the potential of remaining in tact if it's stainless steel.
