*If you are speaking of the valves located on the cabin side of the
firewall, the hose bibbed lines with metal clamps are the failure simulation
valves for disabling the pitot static system to the front cockpit.
These can be removed with the caveat that the hoses to the VSI will need to
be set up in such a way as read correctly. The front VSI has two static
ports (the AFT VSI one has only one static port).
I'll check which port (1 or 2) is connected static line and what happens
with the other one (blocked, open, tied in to static system).
Best regards,
Cliff

I think he may be thinking of the solenoids that operate the simulated
failure of the various instruments in the front cockpit. They simulate
failure of the static system, the airspeed. They can be removed, but you
need to make up a new static and pitot system.

Well, one is the solenoid to control the oil dilution valve. The hose
connections between oil and fuel systems must have been capped off.
That can one can be removed.

Yes it is the pitot/static instructor secret cables. The pitot test guy must have
disconnected due to leaks. I understand it is okay to remove them.
Thank you all.

Thanks and cheers,
Chris.

If all else fails go a bicycle shop, take your old cable with you.

Well, its time to come out of hibernation in Green Bay. We have only
had 28 inches of snow in the last 2 weeks!!
But getting ready to go flying with the guys in Aurora next weekend.
I have a friend in the market for a standard Yak 52. I met him at an
airshow in MTW last summer and he is reading and studying and getting
ready o join the group.
He found the RPA web site and here was his comment about the home page
video.
OMG where have you been hiding that video? that really gets me pumped
up and I was already pumped.
you should spam that across the nation, 1000's of people would want to
join the rpa and the value of your yak would triple, haha.
that video summarizes exactly the reason I wanted to become a pilot. it
was to get together and FLY with people, learn more, not just talk about
flying. you rpa guys really "get out there".
man was this email tough to type. have to us ASCII remap of my shift
key to get some of those symbols and capitals, haha. was worth it
though to get my point across. rpa is exactly where I want to go.
I never dreamed I would get the chance to fly, let alone "own" a
military heritage aircraft. I am really gratefully you said hello to me
last year at mtw. I want to go to that show in a year or two and pay
the same favor back to someone else I find staring at the airplanes like
I was that day. there are more of "me" out there.
Keep up the good work as an organization and kudos to the web site crew!
