There are no gyro-compass components in that area. On the shelf between the seats you can remove only one item. I cant' recall the name right now but it is the central item, a grey box about 4.5" square containing some large relays. This and all wiring can go. >From left to right you must retain: -- SBL35 Inverter, TH3 Gyro unit, FL3 Amplifier, EX Junction Box and the Power Supply relay Box. But; there could be complications: If your aircraft was modified to a solid state voltage regulator that is also located on that shelf. Whether that installation was done without moving other units I do not know. Don't throw away anything yet! If you take the time you will find a number of useful items for your spares box. This component does not appear in the parts books as it was a military mod, part of the charging system, do not remove it or associated wiring.. The compass sensor is just in front of the rudder . You don't want to injure those cables .
