M14B engines
I see that someone is seeking information about the M14B engine. This was a
very limited production version of the M14P - non-inverted, but intended for
long-life, powering a small Antonov mini-airliner (it had two of them). I
know that there are several circulating in the US, and I have just bought
three unused, but old stock ones, really to see the extent to which they
could converted into M14P.
Our initial reports are that there seem to be quite significant differences,
purely apart from the non-inverted aspect.
Clearly the gearbox is completely different, but there are also differences
in the crankcase and supercharger. However it would seem that the moving
parts - crankshaft; pistons; cylinders etc are the same.
It is worth saying that the Voronezh Mechanical Plant used the M14B as a
basis for developing the 430hp M9F engine for the Russian Team, on the basis
that it was more robust than the M14P. IF others know more about these
engines, I would be grateful for information to us - many thanks.

I will be at my house in Sri Lanka from the Thursday 4th August to Tuesday
30th August. However I am working as normal; the office at Rhodds is open
as usual and I receive e-mail; my office telephone number in Sri Lanka is
