I haven't read all this posting but my valve was leaking. NAPA for the closest
"o" ring size very fine sand paper, very fine. Put the o ring on a stick spin
the stick and sand it till it fits. Haven't leaked since. If this isn't the correct
problem, sorry. I'll read further next time.

Problem solved. Went to ACE hardware store and bought 3 different sizes. Went to
hangar and found the one that fit the best. Pressure tested to 5 atm, no leak.
Went for flight and re-check, seems good to go.
For the person who wanted to know which leak tester...it is a Miller Speacialty
Tools Model6904A, found it on ebay

Subject: | Impending Arrival... |
Well, guys...I finally found a Yak I could swing! It's a Wisconsin Winter
project, but hopefully not too in-depth of one. I'm going to be trucking
it home. My question is for those of you who've transported these aircraft
over the road: Any tips? Leave the gear down and locked or fold it and rig
some type of pedestal/dolly? Is overpass clearance an issue if I leave the
gear down? (What is the height to the tip of the rudder?) Any big secrets
to hoisting the fuse onto a trailer? And what is the distance from nose
wheel to mains? Are wing panels moveable w/ a couple guys or am I looking
at hiring some extra man power? I'm gonna need help in the engine
compartment: wires, hoses, possibly a carb or at least a carb rebuild.
Who's "the connection?" Any advice / input would be greatly appreciated! I
don't know if I'm worthy, but I must say I'm HONORED to join the ranks
here! My goal and hope is to climb out of my -52 at Oshkosh in 10 months -
w/ RED STARS proudly velcro'd! You'll know me by my ear-to-ear grin!

Rico,
You are going to need to pull the wings off to transport it overland if I un
derstood you correctly. Unless you can get a police escort all the way to wh
ere you taking it to Wi to rebuild her.
Dennis Savarese can tell you slot more about getting this bird ready to move
overland. Generally the wings are pulled by taking the wing root fairings o
ff first. Then you will have to disconnect the airlines, the oil lines to th
e cooler, disconnect the aileron push rods, and disconnect the flap torque
tubes in the floor of the rear cockpit. Then you are going to have to take t
he wing spar bolts off. To do that you are going to need a gantry to hoist t
he aircraft in front and back. Jack stands under the nose jack points will h
elp stabilize the front of the aircraft while you ate pulling the wing. You w
ill need at least four able bodied men to help move the wing. That has to be
rep eared on the otherwise also.you need make wing cradles to transport the
m also. With one wing off, you will want to mount the transport truck to the
wing spar ilets. Keep the fuselage on the gantries while you pull the other
wing off in the same manner as the first. You may want to pull the prop off
also to decrease the risk of damage in transport. If you have an enclosed t
railer it make it easier but not totally necessary. With the fuselage on the
transport trucks the tail will be low enough to easily fit in a shipping co
ntainer. The nose wheel will need to be left extended.
It is your call concerning taking the tail feathers off or not. if you do ob
viously you will have take the cables lose. Take special care not to let the
trim cable unspool. Dennis can give you a lot more tips and guidance on thi
s subject.
