Rico, Hope you didn't buy the "project" I'm thinking of up there in WI. It may cost more than one in current license by the time you get it done. Of course I understand the concept from the data plate up restoration. I have now noise in my radio at a point where it makes it difficult to fly with such noise in the ears. So I have bought a capacitor kit for the magnetos. Unfortunately I do not understand well how to set it on the M14P magnetos. Doeas anyone have a detailled explanation on how to set this kit up please. Thanks a lot for any advice Best regards -- Didier BLOUZARD didier.blouzard@gmail.com 0624243672 ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 05:33:36 PM PST US From: Warren Hill Subject: Re: Yak-List: Re: Emergency Air Leak update Rich, Look for a used Kent Moore J-41416 Accutrak Ultrasonic Leak Detector. Relatively inexpensive and will end up an indispensable item for chasing pneumatic system problems. They are often listed on eBay. Here is a picture. I bought a Amprobe off Ebay-- $150.00 as I recall, but that was 10 years ago. It works well for me. Your shielding on your P leads can be allowing the w iring as it enters the cap to be exposed causing RF interference that is ble eding over onto your radio. Your tach drive can also have that similar probl em with the shielding at the base of the pin connector being puled back expo sing the wiring allowing to be an RF transmitter. Does it increase with incr easing the RPM? If so, you get to chase those two sources. Know it is a pain in the ass but running the plug wires through your old sh ielded wiring harness is an option too. I have filters on my 50. It did not t otally eliminate the noise but it did make it more tolerable. Electronics ar e not my strong suit. Mark Bitterlick is another great source on avionics is sues.
