I am a former owner of a Yak 52 and two Yak 50's. Sold my last 50 down to Alabama 5 years ago or so. I thought I had this Russian aircraft thing out of my system. Last Fall I made the costly mistake of helping a buddy retrieve a Yak 55M that he had purchased. That peaked my interest again. I ended up importing a Technoavia SP-55M. I believe it is the only one in the States. I just wanted to put in a plug for Richard Goode who handled the transaction. I would not hesitate in buying another aircraft through Mr. Goode. Everything went well. Also, Cliff Coy and his group in Vermont did a good job of assembly and working out an issue or two on the aircraft. Thanks Richard and Cliff. I am looking for a set of Yak 55M fuel level indicators. I want to supplement my electric gauges with the manual type. My wing tanks have the mounting plates for the Yak 55M gauges. Anyone know where I could get a set? Also in need of a wing sighting device. One of mine is broken. If one of you Yak 55M owners has mounted a Smoke System and would share some pictures of how you mounted the tank, I would appreciate that. I believe you sold your 50 to Dave Harcourt in BHM. Who did you sell Scottie Patterson's 50 to? Contact me off list. Once you've gone YAK it's tough to go back. I purchased my 18T through Richard and I would strongly recommend to do so. Not only he knows a lot about the Yak but he is a man of word. Say what he does and does what he says. And he is perfectly honest, no surprise. Richard thanks so much for all and thanks for your kind help and support until now. When no-one from Australia to Romania could help me find a set of M-14P gill shutters, he arranged for something to be assembled by Termikas using parts from what I think may have been several damaged Yaks. Arrived here in Arizona looking like it was brand new and has worked perfectly ever since. Very reasonable price, for which I was most grateful. A real gentleman.
