For some unknown reason I am getting more and more sensitive to noise (I really like gliders!!!) and the Nanchang has that in abundance. I've tried many headsets, helmets and earplugs but my whole body reacts to excessive sound pressure. Now here comes my question: Has anybody successfully brought down the noise level inside a YAK or CJ and how did you do it? Thank you in advance for your input. cheers Elmar ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 09:46:44 AM PST US From: Larry Pine Subject: Re: Yak-List: Taming that noisy bugger I use Westones in my helmet and it's great! Can't fly without them. I only turn my radio volume up a 1/4 turn from off and all is great. From: "barryhancock" We sure do! I have several kits in stock. Do you have the carb heat muffs installed? Makes a difference in the length of one of the hoses. These are all braided hose with AN fittings. See a pic here: http://www.worldwidewarbirds.com/CJ6_parts/intake-drain_lrg.jpg The collector tube comes back and attaches to the fuselage making access easy and it perfectly accepts a water bottle to catch draining oil.
