Here is what I have done and is from a previous posting.
The red beacon at the top of my vertical stabilizer and the wing tip nav /
position / strobes on my CJ are from AveoEngineering. They are LED-based, v
ery bright, draw next to no power and will probably last forever as they ar
e in solid epoxy. You'll have to make a small aluminum plate to cover the l
arge hole each the wing tip, but that's very simple. Here is a link:

s/PosiStrobe_MiniMax/index.php<http://www.aveoengineering.com/Aviation/Airp
lane_LED_Lights/position_LED_lights/PosiStrobe_MiniMax/index.php>
Two of us at FFZ have AveoEngineering lights on our CJs.
There are also replacements for the small exterior Chinese bulb. It's 24 vo
lt, LED cluster that has the same bayonet base. This would be a direct, dro
p-in replacement for the lights on the nose gear, mains and tail cone. This
particular LED arrangement has viewing angle of 90 degrees, so it is brigh
test when seen from straight ahead. Here is where I found this:

sp=%2Fother_bulbs.htm<http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.
cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fother_bulbs.htm>
The web site navigation is a little confusing, but basically what you would
be looking for is the 24 volt, white, dual contact, single intensity, 15 m
m 1142 bayonet base. The ordering designation is: 1142-W15-24V White LED bu
lb - 24V. I've attached a picture of what this looks like installed.
There are also smaller LEDs from the same web site that you can use to repl
ace the six interior landing gear indicator lights and the cockpit interior
lights.
I hope that this is helpful.

Got word from Pappy about the loss of Ken Terry and another person on board Ken's
T-34 while departing from Wings Airport. Wings is a private strip WNW of Ocala,
FL. Witnesses described a hearing a loss of power prior to the crash in a
wooded area in an online report from local news.
Ken was a T-34 FAST Check Pilot who lived at Spruce Creek and often participated
in Red Star events, happy to fly any position with us.

I am sorry to hear that. Ken's T-34 was the first one I ever flew. He and I
traded rides. We'll all miss him.
