And no I did not open it, but do have a friend who's computer is doing the same thing. Good, properly-updated anti-virus should have caught this. I don't know the extent of the infection nor the characteristics of this particular worm/trojan/virus so I can't comment further. But many of the newer viruses are pretty clever about co-opting the anti-virus software and the OS in order to make themselves invisible, so that even if you do a scan, nothing is found. The safe way is to boot the system from a separate disk that has the anti-virus program on it and then run the anti-virus against the infected disk that way. This ensures that the OS and anti-virus haven't already be compromised by the virus. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 brian@lloyd.com +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.916.877.5067 (USA) _blank">www.aeroelectric.com .com" target="_blank">www.buildersbooks.com ="_blank">www.homebuilthelp.com _blank">http://www.matronics.com/contribution et="_blank">http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Yak-List tp://forums.matronics.com _blank">http://www.matronics.com/contribution -- Clifford Coy Border Air Ltd. 629 Airport Rd.
