One less grouping. Many things are unchanged. Actually most things are good . The jet guys with ejection systems and hydraulic flight controls have pot entially severe restrictions. I've enjoyed scanning through this document....especially at 4110.e. Group 5 aircraft specs. In the "typical aircraft" for this group, the examples include the Fairey Rotodyne. It struck me that this is a perfect example of a choice made by a bureaucrat without much of an idea of what goes on in the real world. Reason: the Fairey Rotodyne was a large prototype gyroplane capable of carrying 50+ passengers. It had two large turboprop engines mounted on stub wings but proved to be incredibly noisy because it also had rotor tip mounted jet engines; the project was canceled somewhere around 1960-61 and the sole example was scrapped. Pretty unlikely that a Fairey Rotodyne would show up to be certified in Group 5, I think. Troops, Well I'm back from Waycross. It was another successful and fun year. We had 7 FNG's that took the ground school course. Besides a couple of re currency rides I did check rides for one wing patch and one lead patch. The weather the whole time was perfect. As usual the whole town of Waycross turned out on Saturday just watch us practice. Myself and several other guys activated the acrobatic box and put on a show just for them. Our boys held their own at Oscars to the wee hours and we all ate our years supply of steamed oysters and chili dogs Friday night. God that was good! Oh! I'll put up any of the RPA troops east of the Mississippi and south to the Mason-Dixon line (South East Region) against the rest of RPA when it comes to protecting our own. Details in the RedAlert. Do we still have to request the removal of the proficiency verbiage from our program letters if already not done beforehand? Since the majority of our a ircraft are in the group 2 category. Yes... a simple way to do this is to have your aw and ops lims re-issued un der 8130.2G ... FSDO can do a simple swap if you ask that way=2C or they ca n re-issue your old lims with the proficiency area limitation removed. 813 0.2G is very friendly to group 2 so look through it and if you like what yo u see=2C just a re-issue under 8130.2G may be what you want.
