Hi Elmar,
I don't want to be rude, but any chance of posting a single list of what you
are selling, and ask people to reply to you off list, rather than clogging
our already overcrowded mail boxes with successive ads for all the parts of
a plane one by one, and then the responses to you??

Anthony,
Most automotive stores carry products that remove the glazing / hazing from
car headlights. I'm guessing this might also work on a "foggy" instrument
face...? Would be an easy / cheap fix!

Hi Elmar,
I believe the responses you received suggested only to post a single list of
all items for sale instead of one post per item. I, for one, and I'm sure
many others are definitely interested in items members have for sale on the
List. I would encourage you and others who may have items to sell to list
them here and indeed request replies to be off List directly to seller.

Subject: | Taildragger dragger for the Yak 50 |
Jan and Josh,
www.dragger.com is the website of the tail dragger that I used to modify.
They have powered draggers as well as manual. The powered version came
since I converted my dragger handle so that it would work with my power tow
tug.
The unit lifts the tail wheel off the ground as well as keeps the fork
facing aft not rotated 180 deg facing forward when pushing the plane into
the hanger. The risk of over centering the tail wheel strut comes with
pushing the plane into the hanger over the hanger door tract and the
concrete flooring lip. Also the risk to the tail wheel strut comes from
leaving the tail wheel fork facing forward when stored in the hanger. If the
pressure in the shock absorber is low the tail wheel strut will over center.
I always jack the tail of my 50 up when it is going to sit for a while to
take the weight off of the tail wheel. That is not a big deal for me
currently since my 50's empennage is resting on a cradle just aft of the
cockpit to level the aircraft for instillation of the engine. :^)) No
pressure on the tail wheel that way.

The tailwheel of the Yak 50 is a source of problems for almost every Yak 50.
I personally consider it a weak point and I already had a lot of trouble
with it.
So I'm not so sure whether it's a good idea to move the 50 by dragging her
on the tailwheel.
But maybe I misunderstand this, can you show some pictures? I'm very
interested.

I have to make a weight report of my Yak 50.
No big deal calculating the C of G, once the plane has been put onto balances.
But what I also need is a conversion to % MAC and I don't have the exact position
of the 0 % MAC.
The Russians published an MAC of 1,64 meters for the Yak 50.
I know the methods to calculate the MAC, but it's quite a job.
Just hoping that someone more knowledgeable than I already has done it?
There are several spreadsheets circulating on the Internet but as you could expect,
they do not agree ...

Bill,
Reading your post made me smile as I have been doing just that (using
Toothpaste, any brand) to get the clarity and shine back to my cars'
headlights - worked great! After all, the toothpaste is designed to do the
exact same thing to our teeth.
I'm not sure this will work on gage glass discoloration but worth a try.

Anthony,
Most automotive stores carry products that remove the glazing / hazing from
car headlights. I'm guessing this might also work on a "foggy" instrument
face...? Would be an easy / cheap fix!

3. sighting device
Thanks,

I would personally go for the larger tank. I have the 5 gal with smoke on both
stacks and it is never enough. By never enough, if I had an hour worth of smoke
it still would not be enough but every minute counts. You haven't lived until
climbing up to 10k and drawing a smiley face!
Word on the install, make sure the fill line is as straight as possible, I have
a bend in mine and it is difficult to fill as air can't escape unless I open
the tank lid.

Subject: | Taildragger dragger for the Yak 50 |
Thanks Doc,
So the conclusion is that you have to be careful anyway, isn't it?
I've dismounted the oleo and the whole tailwheel several times, and I
conclude that it's not a very strong structure (on purpose ?).
That's why I'm a bit worried when the whole Yak 50 is pushed, pulled on that
tailwheel structure.
It seems that your modification deals with that, and I would appreciate it
if you'd send a picture of it, occasionally?
I also used to have my 50 with the tailwheel lifted in the hangar to
diminish the pressure in the oleo (supporting the tail on the "eye" behind
the wheel) but in my case it did not prevent the oleo from loosing pressure
anyway, until I had it overhauled.
BR,
Jan

I'm very
interested.

I modified a "Dragger" and then modified a power tug. Will have to take pix
