It looks like there are two plates that hold the fabric and the fabric is riveted to these plates. Know anywhere to purchase the boot? I was going to remove the fabric and see if a local store could make them for me if I couldn't find any. ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 10:48:03 AM PST US Subject: Yak-List: Re: Replacement Fabric for CJ Stick Boot From: "Sonic1" I got mine from Barry.... http://553mw.blogspot.ca/2009/12/firewall-pneumatics-and-other-progress.html Jeff. Used the old boot as a pattern, cut out the new, had my Bride of 42 years set up her #2 sewing machine and made my own, recycling the old plate. Squeezed eyelets with a Handy-Dandy tool from the fabric store, laced it up with some leather shoelace and Bingo a new set of boots Front and Rear. PS (it helps to have done previous aircraft upholstery) *Somewhere* in your community I'm sure there is someone working from home who can do this kinda work and on the cheap. Disclaimer: Excludes communities like Beverly Hills, Grosse Pointe, all of Whiteside County, Marin County.... you get the idea.
