Just bought a 52, and learned one can't fly it without a screwdriver ! Found this wallet-insertable model and tried it on cowl, air induction port, gas tank caps, etc., and it works fine. http://www.drillspot.com/products/135154/Westward_5MW45_Pocket_Screwdriver If the link doesn't work, just Google "Drillspot" (the company) and search for item # 5MW45 Enjoying the forum ! Subject: Fuel washer
We have a bad sealing washer that fits on the t-fitting that connects to the outlet of a CJ-6 fuel pump. Sapp/Selby do not have these in stock. Have researched to no avail and believe we are looking for a non-metallic metric flat washer, but the proper material remains a mystery. This is the closest description found to date, but no idea if =9CBu na-N=9D is the right material for gasoline immersed applications. Description : Item : Sealing Washer, Type : Flat, Material : Buna-N, Thickness : 0.0625", Thickness Tolerance : +/-0.020", Temp. (F) : -25 to 2 00, Color : Black, Durometer : Shore A: 50 to 70, Application : Cushioning, Sealing and Vibration Resistant Any ideas on material or possible sources? Thanks, Dave

Dave, As Doug Sapp already said, don't use a Buna-N washer on the fitting. You need a metric crush washer. Here is a link to some metric crush washer which may fit the fitting. I'd go with the aluminum crush washers. http://www.mcmaster.com/#metric-sealing-washers/=hfo1tt A. I agree with Doc. If you keep the Swiss Army Knife in one of your zippered flight suit pockets, should not be a problem. Plus the Swiss Army knife can be a real asset if you have an emergency and egress the airplane. Like maybe cutting the parachute shrouds etc? A. I don't know where you live, but I suggest you try a local Hot Rod shop or Speed Shop. The use aluminum sealing washers and should have a selection available. Frank CJ6-A

True..true.. Another reason for flying in clothing in which the pockets are sealed by a zipper. Emptying ALL of the contents from the pockets before engaging in acro also helps. About to come out with a survival vest with zipper pockets and Velcro pouches just for stuff like that for those that do not want to fly in a flight suit. It will have this really cool powder sewn into the collar and breast pouches that when wet will give off an endothermic reaction the stays cool for up to three days and completely regenerates/ reconstituted itself. Welcome relief to cool the neck and chest to lower core temperature on those hot days in the pit. It is being used in the Stans now by the troops as we speak.
