Anyone in the area willing to give a ride this week to a friend of mine who is currently touring the US with his band The Boxer Rebellion? He is a HUGE airplane fan and would love a ride in something cool! They will be in town late on the 16th, most of the day the 17th, and the morning of the 18th. ' Probably score some tickets to the show..back stage..maybe some sound check access. These are some cool dudes. I know this is last minute but if anyone could help out, that would be awesome! I went to the base address and found the table. The address is http://www.yak-52.com/Power Settings.htm %20 don't work none. With all these being at sea level. Am I to assume a 25.4 mm drop in pressure per 1000' MSL? And at what altitude is full throttle the best you can do? And I think I read at some altitude full rich is max lean. G'Day All, Can I please have some input re Ivor's questions. I have done all of my valves, intake and exhaust and used some grinding wheels (Dressed the angles with a diamond tip stone grinder in the lathe. One hell of a mess) and made some various size mandrels for both intake and exhaust to suite the slight differences of the guides. I found the exhaust seats to be extremely hard and went by the angles in the manual. Hey Chris, Do you know or could you find out if anyone knows what the M14P's factory exhaust valve face and exhaust valve seat angles should be ? Also, please ask if operators have had their exhaust valve seats re-cut and if so, did they encounter difficulty cutting the seat due to the hardness ? After hearing about your difficulties, I am contemplating making a diamond impregnated dressing stone for this task. Any takers ? Is there an exchange service for overhauled cylinders ? I have a mate who requires 3 urgently. I guess when the leakage exceeds the starting air flow, you have to either fit an electric start or FIX the problem, eh ? Cheers, Ivor Paech LAME

OK. So go to www.yak-52.com and click on the Power Settings button at the top. The only thing I was offering you was how to convert g/hp/hr to gallons or liters per hour, which is what you asked at the beginning of your post. Dennis A. From: "mgdimarco" <mgdimarco@yahoo.com>
I asked an incomplete question in the other topic. Who has or where can I find a set of performance charts for this aircraft/engine combination. Sea level data for a couple of data points hardly does the job. The only other charts I found are TAS in kmph/altitude/RPM and a time to climb chart. There has to be more than that. Endurance/Fuel Flow charts have to exist somewhere........right? -------- Michael Di Marco China Blue mgdimarco@yahoo.com 407-608-3290 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=373066#373066

Back when I had a flying CJ6 I had done the flight testing to get me a number of useful data points for cross-country cruise, time to climb, etc. Not sure I can find all that stuff now. But it isn't that difficult to do. Do you have a fuel-flow gauge in your plane? If not then you will need to take some long cross country flights to figure it out. But here is one you can use as I remember it off the top of my head: 11,500', standard day, full throttle, 1950 RPM, leaned to peak EGT (without surging) produced 130kts TAS at 11GPH. I used this power setting to make flights of over 450 nm with only light (10-15 kts) tailwinds. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 brian@lloyd.com +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.916.877.5067 (USA)

    From: "keithmckinley" <keith.mckinley@townisp.com>
Had a vent line come loose and dump smoke oil all over the inner fuselage. It's the smelly MIL-SPEC type the T-birds were using at the show( kind of smells like diesel). Does anyone have a recommendation for cutting it and cleaning it out other than AVgas? Little concerned about any type of detergent. Thank you. -------- Keith McKinley 700HS KFIT Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=373070#373070

I.d use GUNK (liquid in gal can) and mix 1 to 4 with mineral spirits. Spra y over interior surface. Wait a few minutes (15) than wash out with water. Make sure your drain holes are clear. Don't spray any thing electrical o r get it wet. if you get water trapped in some places, suck it out a wet /dry vac.
