The box is the relay for all the equipment in the rear of the plane-like most of the avionics which are behind the rear seat. We rebuilt an 18T and saved 106 pounds on the electrical system alone! I own a Yak18t, I have a million questions but the most pressing at this stage is the red illumination bulbs which fold down above instruments do not operate. On the switch panel on the right hand side is a instrument lighting switch and a variable Pot which I assume operate the lighting. My question; is there a common problem with the instrument lighting I should look at first before I go hunting around at all the other possibilities? Is there a fuse anywhere? Also while doing the 100 Hr I discovered a very large electrical piece of equipment under the rear seats on the right hand side with plugs and switches on it, all appeared off, anyone know what this is? Thank you all in advance Andrew Park -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

When I pulled the wiring from my CJ6A "Project" I put it all in a box and threw it on a scale -- 110lbs (50kg). I expected the replacement electrical system to come in under 10kg and probably closer to 5kg. Most older electrical systems are unnecessarily massive and complex, with many things done by tradition rather than engineering. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 brian@lloyd.com +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.916.877.5067 (USA) ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 12:00:03 PM PST US Subject: Yak-List: Push Pull Cables with Aluminum Housing From: "SP55" Having trouble finding a source of push pull cables with aluminum housing.
