A 2 2/2 foot tall step ladder positioned delicately under the shut off valve on the sump with a 5 gal. Home Depot bucket position so as to catch the oil stream. Of course the chin cowl has to have been removed from the aircraft for this to happen without a huge mess. Naturally the next step would be to pull the chip detector oil screen after the sump has drained otherwise pulling the chin cowl would be a big pain for something that a 8 mm I.D. PCV clear plastic hose passed through the louvers and slipped over the nipple on the sump drain to drain into a bucket on the hanger floor would do. You need about 5.5 feet of that type of hose to do that. I believe I need the following: 1. full measurements of the wing attach points including bolt spacing, gap, chordwise spacing, and spanwise spacing; 2. length of airframe from firewall to end of empanage; 3. measurements necessary to construct a cradle for the outer wing sections, e.g. max and min chord, span, and max thickness; 4. measurements necessary to construct a cradle for the horizontal stab; 5. measurements necessary to construct a cradle for the vertical stab. The airframe will be transported without an engine. Actuating a switch pumps the oil back into the main tank. Of course it makes cleaning the screen rather problematic, but it does work. It's temporarily held in place with some cable lacing and drains into a plastic bucket directly underneath. I never expect to find any metal chips, bit it's always nice to know that they are not there.
