Robin, et. al., I have the iPad with the Sporty's iPad kneeboard (tho' there are dozens on the market to choose from) and use the Dual Electronics bluetooth GPS receiver. This combined with the ForeFlight app are indispensible tools for cross country flying. The bluetooth GPS replaces the need for a dedicated and much more expensive hand held GPS. ForeFlight is as powerful as any flight software I have seen, is intuitive, and the subscription is very reasonable. Yes, it is somewhat large in a CJ or Yak cockpit, but I find it very useful for cross country flying. Hope this helps, Barry -------- Barry Hancock Worldwide Warbirds, Inc. We are a dealer for LP and can give you discounted pricing. We also have an exclusive one piece rear canopy. It is not a malcom hood, but it looks sharp, and it cuts down on installation time significantly (one less cross bow to deal with = many less holes to drill and less trimming). See attached pics and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Barry -------- Barry Hancock Worldwide Warbirds, Inc. Hi Robin, On the several APs we mounted, we developed a mounting bracket that attached to the belly of the aircraft. We spent A LOT of time with this and feel like it is a pretty good solution. See attached. I highly recommend the Dynon AP. The installation is straight forward, and they work well. Again, we are a Dynon dealer and offer a discount to Red Star aircraft drivers.
