No offense guys, but you sure find a lot of things to bicker over. Perhaps we should focus on the positives and our commonalities. We're (theoretically) here due to our love of aviation and loyalty to some intriguing aircraft. Let's face it - if you're blessed enough to be actively involved in aviation, you're probably doing OK in life. There are people out there with very challenging struggles shivering through the night and praying for the possibility of one more meal. No one presidency got us into this mess and no one presidency is going to deliver us. Cast your vote, hope for the best and live the best life you are able to muster. But let's not turn on each other because we have differing political views when we should be uniting to celebrate and develop what we are so fortunate to participate in. We are all drawn in many different directions in life due to upbringing, financial status, spirituality, etc. But we are all HERE because there's a red star somewhere on our airframe. (or in our hearts) My folks taught me to live by "if you can't say anything nice..." I think we can invest a little effort in looking past what we deem to be others' short-comings and focus on what we're here for. Let's leave the mud-slinging to the candidates...and BOTH sides, unfortunately, thrive on it. Written with the sincerest of positive intentions... Even though this is exactly the place to talk about everything and all that affects our pilot community, some get weak at the knees at political discu ssion or polite disagreement.- There is nothing wrong with a good debate of the ideas.- This country was set up and founded on the idea that peopl e can disagree, call each other names, voice an opposing oppinion and-in t he end come back together while preparing for the next battle.- This is t he basis of our political process and what makes this country great.- Tha t being said, I am well aware of the horror some people get riddled with wh en political talk enters the room.- So, those of you that enjoy polite po litical discussion and oppinions, no matter what your leanings, I have a fa cebook page where this takes place on a daily basis.- Some of the forum a re already-participants and all are welcome.- If you feel the need to v ent or have an open discussion, I invite you to come join.=0A=0A=0A=0ALarry Pine=0A=0A=0A________________________________=0AFrom: Richard Hess <hess73 7@aol.com>=0ATo: "yak-list@matronics.com" <yak-list@matronics.com> =0ASent: Friday, November 2, 2012 7:23 AM=0ASubject: Re: Yak-List: Re: My final wor d on how I feel=0A=0A=0AI believe Lenin said it doesn't matter who votes. Well said Doc! Our EAA chapter just had CarolAnn Garratt (multiple round the world single engine flights) as a speaker. Just hearing the difficulties for GA around the world sends chills up my spine. Even Europe is very difficult. We must stop the move toward socialism in this country or face the same restrictions on our everyday flying. G'Day Mark, Well said. I am with you on that. Whilst I would normally agree to keep the political crap and other such like off this site, it is encouraging to note that the true American patriots have the guts to speak up and recognize a very real threat to not just Americans, but indeed the rest of the free world. Until this threat is neutralized, please keep your heads out of the sand and do not become apathetic as some. In Australia there is a saying "She's right mate" Unfortunately some believe that when "She aint right mate" Take care. Chris Wise. Subject: CJ-6 Engine Trouble
Hello=2C I wrote previously about engine trouble I had been having on my CJ -6. I believed it was the Carburetor diaphram. I ended up changing the wh ole carburetor with a new one. I finished changing the carb and was going to do a run-up on the plane. It had been sitting for about 3 weeks so I tu rned the prop through about 15-17 times. I turned it a little extra becaus e it had sat for so long. As I turned the prop oil came out of the exhaust s which was normal. Once the oil stoped and I felt I had turned the prop e nough times I went to stat the engine. The engine started to turn over and the prop went around about 4 times and then just stopped. Then some oil c ame out of the left exhaust. I assumed it stopped because I was out of gas (There were a few gallons of 100LL previously used during run-ups). I had very little gas left in the plane and I wasn't feeling a lot of pressure o n the primer. So I had the plane filled with gas. After topping off with 100LL I went to turn the prop again and it wouldn't budge. It was stuck so lid. I turned the prop in reverse about a turn and a half. Then back in t he normal direction=2C after a turn and a half it stopped in the same spot. It felt much more stiff turning it than usual=2C and turning it forward i t does not move an inch once it hits the spot where it stopped. I pulled t he bottom 4 spark plugs and nothing came out. I tried to pull it through a gain and it still wouldn't budge. Any ideas? I feel like I hydraulic locked it=2C but I know there wasn't a ny oil in there to do so. Thanks=2C Tom
