Subject: | Re: My final word on how I feel. |
Mike,
What you call the "socialist communist tin-foil hat wearing" paranoia is
very denigrating.
For you living in Australia it is easy to conclude that you live in a
Democracy and that you can vote and that nothing will change that.
But I am old enough to have widnessed how things changed in Western
Europe.
And here indeed, we can still vote, but the outcome is always a pre-fixed
government.
They do whatever is necessary to keep the power.
For instance granting voting rights to non-nationals or even changing the
law so that nationality is easily given away to immigrants who don't even
speek the language.
The islamic immigrants vote socialist of course, because socialists
redistribute the wealth created by others.
I have seen how our precious Democracy changed seemlessly into a
totalitarian system.
The reality over here is that we're governed by a few hundred non-elected
apparatchiks on the European level.
They even say how the French have to make their wine and cheese.
They came up with EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency.
Ultimately that's one of the main causes why all RA registered Yaks
(including mine) were grounded in Western Europe.
You simply have NO idea what it costs over here to continue flying.
Some airfields in the Netherlands charge 100 euro (that is 128 US dollars)
for ONE landing!
I may fly for maximally 30 days per year, have to inform the authorities
before each flight.
A this is not my civil right, but just a granted favor, which of course
costs money.
In many countries of Western Europe, civil rights are simply reduced to
the right to pay.
The outcome of the elections in the USA are very important for the whole
world. And for aviation.
That's why I claim the right to comment too.
Even if some people living in very thinly populated hughe countries
consider my kind of reply as simplistic politically partisan opinions.
And why would I, living in Western Europe, prefer a republican President
for the USA: history shows that "Democratic" Presidents often lead into
war:
Wilson : WWI
FDR: WWII
Truman: Korean War
LBJ: Vietnam
And the job usually has to be finished by a republican ...
That's the end of my politically partisan rant.

Subject: | RE: Hydraulic Lock |
Group,
I have a very good article on hydraulic lock on our website. It is posted
under technical information as a download. This was written by Carl in
1995. The laws of physics haven't changed. www.m-14p.com
A couple of other notes:
- It is possible to hydraulic lock your engine with fuel and over-priming.
- We have heard of one instance where a bit of debris was large enough to
block the intake drain line on the installed drain kit. Although the owner
thought his intakes were being drained, all were not because the oil
couldn't drain past the blockage. If you have an intake drain kit
installed, it would be a good idea to periodically (condition inspection)
flush the drain lines.

Then look no further. Time has come for me to part with"Pandamonium."
This is for sure one of the most thoroughly restored CJ's in existence. Ground
up restoration with all the upgrades we learned in 5+ years of restoring CJs,
74 gallons fuel, state-of-the-art Dynon Skyview both cockpits, state-of-the-art
radios, transponder, and intercom (with bluetooth...pretty cool), integrated
auto pilot, M14P with MTV-9-260 prop, custom 3 axis trim, and countless other
tricks. Email me off list for a full powerpoint presentation. Over 4000 manhours
have gone into this restoration, and nearly $300K invested. I'm gonna
let it go for a lot less than that. If you want a true "want for nothing" dream
CJ, let's chat. I'm motivated to move on.
Speaking of moving on, if any of you know of a good T-6 for sale, please have the
seller contact me or shoot me their contact info. I'm actively looking for
the right T-6 or SNJ (no Harvards...need Standard Category).
Happy Flying!

Barry, I love you like a brother (well not my brother, POTUS, but some fictional
brother) but Hal Morley's Hana Hou is certainly the mostly highly and extravagantly
modified CJ in the US fleet. It even smells like a Bentley.
