Subject: "Black Friday" For List Fund Raiser...?
Dear Listers, The number of List subscriptions are up by a fair amount this year, but support during this year's Fund Raiser is substantially behind last year, and there's only about a week left until the end of the Fund Raiser. I have always preferred a non-commercial List experience as many, many members have also expressed that they do as well. However, if the yearly fund raiser cannot generate sufficient funds to keep the bills paid, other sources of income might be required including some sort of advertising. Please don't let that happen! Your personal Contribution of $20 or $30 goes a long ways to keeping this operation a float. Please make sure your name is on this year's List of Contributors! The List Contribution site is secure, quick, and easy: http://www.matronics.com/contribution Or, drop a personal check in the mail to: Matt Dralle / Matronics 581 Jeannie Way Livermore CA 94550 Thank you in advance for your support! The Russian cylinder base wrench in my tool kit is not the greatest at reaching some nuts. Nor is it possible to set a real torque value using it. I *think* (from my fading memory) the nuts are 14mm, so has anyone used a regular 9/16th cylinder base wrench before? Or, is there such a thing as a 14mm cylinder base wrench, other than the one in my Russian tool set? Check with George Coy. He makes a cylinder base tool with a socket head that your torque wrench will work with. Off the top of my head I believe it is a 1/2 inch drive but don't quote me on it. It is a thin walled cylinder base wrench so it will fit in those tight spots like between the carb and the sump. Careful not to over torque the tool to hard though or it will split down the side. Don't remember the base nut size. Been about 19 months since I tore my engine down. I want to say 15 mm was the size though. Have not tried a 9/16 th wrench either. I regularly use a 9/16" Pratt & Whitney cylinder base wrench but since it is 0.011" bigger than 14 mm you need to be sure it is in good condition. Been meaning to check with Snap - On re a 14 mm one but so far have not done so. A standard 14 mm crow foot will not work.
