Subject: | Re: CJ pitot static lines |
Robin,
On the CJ there are only rubber hose connectors in a few places in the
system IF you system is stock. Starting from the pitot you have a pair of
hose connectors at the rear of the pitot. The next place where you may
have a leak is in the plastic (check them for cracks as well as seal)
condensation traps in the wing root. Next check the connection between the
wing and the fuse. There are no other hose connections in the pitot system
until you get to the instrument panel area.
Hope this helps
Doug

Subject: | Fuel Vent Question |
Is it just Hot over here in Australia and this does not happen in Colder Eu
ropean Countries?? Now after a few runs yesterday I have a question in rela
tion to the Fuel vent line. From reading the book it appears the 3 tanks ven
t through the one line=2C Correct.?? But the 5lt collection tank in the fus
e has one way flow for the obious reasons=2C Nowwhat I find if sitting in t
he sun after 40lts have been spent from the tank and that 40lts is always f
rom the Left tank 1st while in flight . But Parked in the sun it loses say
a cup full of fuel out of the Vent Line every now and then.Appears to conti
nually happen=2C until you remove a fuel cap to vent. Cap almost blows off.
Do others find this in the venting and indication of fuel use from either
wing??Is it normal for you to always see the left tank drop by say 35lt bef
ore the R/H starts to drop. Then they appear to become close to equal flow.
