I ordered some BA7S bulbs, which BTW come in a package labeled 3899 bulbs.

take one of your old bulbs to Auto Zone, Parts Plus, or O'Rily's (sp). Ask them
to order you the bulbs they use for supplying the city fire trucks. Those are
24 volt bulbs that slip right in the socket and work fine.
That is what I am using in my 50 and 52.

Subject: | Annual RPA event at Waycross |
Guys and gals,
The RedStar Pilots Association web site is partially out of whack. The
events section has got problems, and none of the schedule events are being
posted. One is for the SE Region's Swamp Thunder formation clinic at KAYS
(Waycross, Georgia) which has been going on for some 8 years now. This year
its starting on Friday April 5th. until Sunday April 7th. On Monday we
plan to sortie down to S&F at LAL and participate in the WarBird part of the
show.
For those who have been there you know the great time we have. For those
who have not, well clam bakes, training, contests, and just plain meet &
greet fellow members, are just part of the fact, we usually have 15 to 20
airplanes there.
Anyway because of the web site problems, they need to get your plans if
you're going to be there. Do that by either e-mailing Shane Golden at
_scgsmg@direcway.com_ (mailto:scgsmg@direcway.com) or _scgsmg@bellsouth.net_
(mailto:scgsmg@bellsouth.net) or me (I'll forward it to Golden)
Those RPA folks here might want to please forward this on to members they
know, who don't read the list.
Thanks
Jim "Pappy" Goolsby

And at this year's SNF, something special for Stout Lads with a firm grip on the
throttle. A "Performance Evaluation" I have been working on, and hopefully will
be announced soon. It will consist of a timed takeoff or "Cat Shot", followed
by the "Sun 'n Fun Sprint" for those who wish to navigate a short 23 mile
course on the clock.
Open to *most* single engine piston airplanes, I expect some hot dog RV-8 guys
will sign up. What I'm looking for is a Yak or two to enter the Cat Shot portion
from flag drop to 6000' or a Standing NM. Yaks should do very well, especially
Yak-50's. Participants will need their insurance coverage amended to include
Sun 'n Fun Fly-in Inc. as an "Additional Insured" for the week. Not hard to
get, I called and got it myself. This requirement will soon be an industry standard
in the airshow business.
I'm still looking for a sponsor but it's been slow going since the Reno crash.
Aircraft Spruce dropped all their sponsorships due to "liability".
Let me know off-list if you want to participate and I'll see what I can do.
