No, it is impossible to see through the other side.=0A=0AThe best thing to do is use the original filter as a B nut adapter and install Doug Sapp's SS filter.- I provided Doug installation instructions to install it on a Ya k 52.- Drill out the old filter, flush it out thoroughly and reinstall it .- Then follow the instructions to fabricate the hoses.- Mount the filt er with 4 Adel clamps on the upper engine mount arm above the large air-oil separator.=0A=0AI you can't find the installation drawing, email me off li st and I will send it to you.=0ADennis=0Adsavarese0812@bellsouth.net.=0A=0A =0A=0A=0A=0A=0A________________________________=0A From: "flying@jeffhove.c om" <flying@jeffhove.com>=0ATo: yak-list@matronics.com =0ASent: Friday, Jun e 21, 2013 5:24 PM=0ASubject: Yak-List: Yak-52 pneumatic in-line air filter ake off the pneumatic system air filter from the Yak-52 firewall=0Aand look into one opening, is it proper to see through to the other side?=0A=0AIt l ooks like the air has blasted straight through whatever element was=0Athere .=0AA maintenance manual diagram shows this should have a disk element held =0Awith a spring.- Is the element replaceable?=0A=0AThe case has two pair s of dimples or holes around the threaded seam, like=0Ait was staked or has very small drift-pins to prevent unscrewing it.- How=0Ado you open it wi thout damage?=0A=0AThe Matronics archives show a lot of discussion about th e CJ's desiccant=0Afilter, but not much about the Yak's, and the maintenanc e documents I've=0Afound don't mention servicing this item.=0A=0ABlue Skies =========================0A ===================

The guy on ebay parting out the 52 would have had that. Don't know if he still does. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=403179#403179

    Subject: wrenches
I've been shopping for tools lately and came across something that might be of interest to y'all. Sears sells a 7 piece open end wrench set that has: 6/8=2C 7/9=2C 10/11=2C 12/14=2C 13/15=2C 16/18=2C and 17/19 in it. We have a lot of Soviet tools that came with the stuff at the museum and I' ve never seen a 13=2C 15=2C 16=2C or 18 in them. I don't recall those sizes on a CJ=2C either. Or maybe=2C but super rare s ize. So if you realize the 6/8 and 7/9 are mostly "nice to have" ... a huge amou nt of what needs done on the CJ can be done with _3 wrenches_. Good idea to throw them in your travel bag? Sears' SKU is 44188. $27. Ma de in the US of A. I also found www.toolfoam.com where I'm sure their "regular" prices are fri ghtening but their "specials" had some things that worked out just perfectl y for me. My new toolbox is getting the full military tool control treatme nt. :-) Jon
