Looking for any opinions of problem.- My yak has always held air in the m
ain system and did not leak at all.- On most recent flight I came to airp
ort and found the air completely gone=0A=0A-and the handle to turn on air
very tight to move.- I filled the system and went flying. It charged up
to 4 in a one hour flight. But did not go back up to 5 range where it used
to be. It would seem that I have a non-return (ck valve) sticking.- Where
do you suggest to start to look . thanks

If your main air valve is suddenly leaking and hard to move the problem is
most likely a rusty needle in the main air valve. Options are to either
replace the needle with a stainless steel needle or replace the entire
valve. Both are in stock, contact me off list if you find that this is
your problem. You may have other problems (leaks) which drained your tank
because the aircraft was not running, these small leaks are easily overcome
by the compressor when the engine is running so you never know you have
them.
Best,
Doug

First, using a spray bottle of soapy water, remove the cover from the
external air fill port and spray the opening. If it bubbles and the
main air system is leaking down, you have a check valve on the firewall
(the one on the left side of the pop off valve "cross" and closest to
the oil tank) leaking. If the emergency is leaking down (you did not
mention this), the check valve for the emergency system is just inside
the fuselage at the external air fill port.
Next, with the main air tank filled, open the snot bottle and see if
there are any bubbles coming from the drain tube on the snot bottle. If
it bubbles, the check valve on the right side of the pop off valve cross
is not shutting off.
Check these out first and let me know either off list or on. Whichever
you prefer.
