I have installed this unit in my CJ6 almost 10 years ago and it has been
working great and is a very valuable instrument. Additionally, I have
added the optional Fuel Flow/Fuel computer interface which I think is a
very important option to take

Once again, all pressure gone. This is not an uncommon problem on the Yak
50.
I had it overhauled some years ago, new seals =8A
It worked well for about two years, now I have to repressurize again and
again and the cycle becomes shorter.
So I took it out and opened it.
The seals are still good, but there's a scratch at the inside of the
cylinder so no wonder the nitrogen escapes.
The scratch was caused by a tiny little screw that's supposed to block a
plate on the piston, to hold the layers of seals.
The screw had a sharp edge =8A
This oleo is almost impossible to find. There are none available in Russia
anymore, that's for sure.
I don't know if honing the cylinder is a good idea, since it's rather thin
and I can't tell how deep the scratch is.
A few years ago, I tried to put a spring inside the oleo, but that's very
bad: it behaves completely different and is too hard on the connection of
the oleo to the tail.
My Russian inspector at that time, Sergei Makarov, said that the spring
resonated and that it hammered too hard on the tail connection.
What do you guys suggest?
