Find a shop that overhauls hydraulic cylinders and have them hard chrome
the inside of the strut then hone it back to the standard size.

Jan,
Kun je geen nieuwe cilinder laten draaien of de bestaande cilinder
uitdraaien tot de beschadiging weg is en daarna laten verchromen/harden??

Subject: | CJ gear air line restrictor |
While doing a gear check, I noticed the left main gear moving pretty briskly compared
to the right main and the nose. A closer look revealed that the restrictor
on the air line must have gotten "lost" by the mechanic who did the last annual.
The restrictor on my right main is on the 'up" side of the line. It seems like
the manual shows the restrictors in the "down" side line.
Would someone please clarify the correct location.

The two photos attached are of my left and right mags and the timing number stamped
on them. I believe 23 to be the correct number although the other number
on each mag looks prominent but in an area that looks like it may have been ground
down.

All the restrictors belong in the down side of the system on the main
side. None on the emergency down side.

Hi Dennis,
Not to sound like a dummy, but just to clarify, the down side has a "T" just prior
to the actuator. One side is normal, the other emergency air. The restrictor
goes on the normal side of the fitting on the "T".

Keith;
I would suspect that 23 degs. is the correct number. That could change at
overhaul of the mag. depending on the spring tension, etc. of the new
auto-advance parts installed. The original 25 deg. markings should have
been obliterated to avoid confusion.
Re: The gear down restrictors; These should be at the bulkhead end of the
NORMAL gear down hose. If you have original Chinese manufactured hose the
restrictor end has a longer nut (to accommodate the restrictor!). I think
those are 0.5 mm (0.020") restrictors. However, I just got home from an
enjoyable (and well lubricated) flying club barbecue and my manuals are in
the hangar so all of the above is suspect to say the least.
Cheers;
Walt
