Chaps
After having some issue with my CJ boost/ignition coil (shower of sparks) or whatever
you'd like to call it I spent some time searching on this forum and in
the parts manuals (Thanks Doug).
There's a test/set-up procedure for it in themaintenance manual. I've reproduced
it here....

Does anyone have an extra Yak-52 pneumatic service port cover they would
part with before I have to order one from the factory?

Why bother? A brand new one with the new cannon plug attached is only
$45.00.

Interesting! Great info Harv.
FYI, to M-14 engine guys... the vibrator spark coil on the CJ is identical to the
YAK's. This procedure thus is applicable.
A tester would need to build the test jig with the precision spark gap, but that
is no big deal really. You could make it out of something that has a point
at the end, good screws for instance... and then just have two of them opposing
each other with the precision gap. Adjust as necessary as they wear.
Advice from the peanut gallery: Be extremely careful "sanding down" the points.
There is actually a special file specifically made for relay point polishing,
and it is quite smooth, not rough at all. I'd stay away from a file and just
go with the "000" emery if you really feel it necessary. Just sayin....
A bad mistake messing with the points would ruin the device.
