Hi Doc, the chain grease has a lot of solvent fresh from the spray can. When you have the bottles removed from the plane it is easy to fill a quantity of grease in the bottle and spread this while it is fluid. Soon this gets real sticky and stays where it belongs and will not find into the rest of pipes and valves. By the way, I dont see much use for glycerine in the system as this is water soluble and will soon be through it leaving no more protection. But then , it doest do any harm either. In no way would I use WD 40 as this can gum up in places, showing like resin properties when dry. Just try this somewhere and see later in a few days. This can block mechanics - unlike some chain grease., but test this first for some time. Vic Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=409752#409752

Thanks very much for sharing this. This happens at every Delta station and I'm sure on every other US airline as well. I've had the honor to bring home two of America's finest and they were the two most memorable flights I've had at Delta in 25 years. What is even more impressive is the solemn respectfulness of the pax when we inform them that they have the honor to accompany home one of our fallen. No one moves until the body is off the airplane. There are still proud Americans out there. Semper Fi -------- Keith McKinley 700HS X26 Sebastian, FL Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=409781#409781

Yep. Orlando Propeller over hauled my old Chinese prop years ago when I had the HS 260 on the airplane. They most likely won't sign a log or any type certification form, (just hand you the bill) but can do the work with the expertise needed. I later sold that prop to a buddy when he did a gear up near TIX after I had put the M-14p in.. Anyway they did a good inspection, painted and balanced it. I do not remember the cost but a call to them will give you an idea. Jim "Pappy" Goolsby In a message dated 10/3/2013 10:59:58 A.M. Are there any shops you might recommend down here in FL, or wherever...
