Subject: Facts surrounding the personal attack
Group, I will respond to Roger Kemp's personal attack on me with the facts. I leave it up to you to form your own opinion. Roger purchased a set of freshly overhauled actuators from me and was charged a $2,400 core charge for 2 main and 1 nose landing gear actuator for a Yak 52. (That is an $800 core charge on each actuator. This is nowhere near replacement value from the factory today.) He did not want to wait for us to overhaul his actuators. His actuators arrived missing parts (bolts, washers, bushings and a set screw) and partially disassembled. He had one bad piston in the nose landing gear actuator - it was heavily corroded. He also sent a shuttle valve whose mount holes would not align with any of the actuators sent. He was charged for a replacement shuttle valve. I also offered to send that defective valve back to him and the old piston. Here is the complete text of my correspondence with Roger: Dear Doc, Good afternoon! Please see the attached credit memo on your actuators. I will refund you for the return of the bolts and skinny washers. As you can see by the price, they are worthwhile returning. The other deductions are for the corroded piston in the nose actuator. The shuttle valves were not on the actuators when we got them and one of them will not align with the holes in any of the actuators. If you want, I will return this to you. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Best regards, Jill ***** In reference to Roger's statement, "She just screwed me out of $800 on my actuator cores", he cannot calculate. I refunded him $1,973.97 of the core charge. $2,400 - $1973.97 = $426.03, not $800. Of that $426.03, if Roger had sent me the missing parts I would have happily refunded him an additional $87.77. Then, he would have been assessed a $338.26 core for the rejected parts. I believe I was fair in my business practices. Finally, I thank those of you who enjoy doing business with us for your continued support. Best regards, Jill M-14P, Inc.

Pure battery voltage isn't always a good clue without some sort of load on it. I'd suggest testing the batteries after they're several years old on every condition inspection or anytime strange things starts happening with the electrical system. I had an instructor beat into my head years ago to always start at the battery and its connections when diagnosing any electrical issue. It was pretty good advice. Very interesting.-=0A=0AI have been working on my cabin heat install for the last couple weeks. It is a DIY system. Sonic Headers made my heat muff: -http://sonicheaders.com/=0A=0AThis picture was taken when I put the heat muff on no. 8 which is the cylinder I told Sonic Headers to build my heat muff for. They built it for no. 4 instead, so the picture does not represen t its final installation. It turns out that having the heat muff on no. 4 i s a better location than on no. 8.=0A=0AI just received some SCAT duct from Aircraft Spruce and should finish my installation this weekend. I will tak e more pictures this weekend.=0A=0ARobin=0A=0A=0A__________________________ ______=0A From: PS <psalter@aol.com>=0ATo: yak-list@matronics.com =0ASent: Thursday, December 5, 2013 2:47 PM=0ASubject: Yak-List: Re: CJ Questions=0A tem in my CJ.=0A=0A--------=0APhil=0A=0A=0A=0A=0ARead this topic online her e:=0A=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=414946#414946=0A=0A =0A=0A=0AAttachments: =0A=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com//files/img_0172_254 .jpg=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com//files/img_0150_103.jpg=0Ahttp://forums. matronics.com//files/img_0108_143.jpg=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com//files/ img_0107_210.jpg=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com//files/img_0098_159.jpg=0Aht =

Hi Todd I see you have rubber parts on your list of things to replace if yo ur referring to hoses I just went through that procedure took 3 months to g et er done. Every one I contacted said send me your hoses (EVERYONE) none o f the part suppliers has a set of hoses on the shelve ready to ship at a re asonable price. The Yak=C2-hose if unaltered from the factory has a reusa ble fitting=C2-and they are pretty easy to remove and reinstall on new ho se mandrels would come in handy but to find them with the right size tread and =C2-bevel would be impossible they would have to be made, I think if I had to do it again I would find the hose and replace it myself as Jim sug gested, just have to find a way to lock the B-nut down. =0A=0AWhen I starte d=C2-my search Jill came to the top of the list even the Yak factory sugg ested I contact Jill but I felt=C2-the quote was HIGH for having MY hoses replaced It would have been acceptable for an outright sale and I keep my old hoses, In her defense though=C2-she does go the extra mile and sends the fitting out for cleaning and annealing? they look like AN fittings when done (light blue). I went with Cliff Coy As the Coy's=C2-are in my back yard when I'm in NY and=C2-able to drive to their facility. =0A=0AWhen I contacted Termikas they said sure send us=C2-all 28 hoses and I thought t o myself wow 28 hoses where are the hidden hoses well the fuel lines under your ass and all the air hoses in the wing for the landing gear ya there's quite a few.=0A=0ADuring my search I visited many (many)=C2-hose manufact urer's=C2-actually just visited one today over in Sarasota=C2-Florida =C2-BAT Inc http://www.mocalusa.com/=C2-I visited him with a couple fit tings from the Yak and like everyplace else yes we have metric fitting but not that one. So I said your web site says you can have any fitting manufac tured he said sure can Yak oil lines straight $20.00 Yak oil 45 Deg $45.00 Yak air line 45 Deg $20 Yak air line straight $15.00 (MINIMUM order each 10 0) and can make=C2-them to=C2-fit off the shelf AN hose. So if any of t he parts supplier's want to contact him via e-mail Eric Odenweller General Manager eric@batinc.net send him some fittings and place some orders. Thanks Bill. Very informative. I was not aware there were 28. I was warned already by several people (Richard being one of them) to be sure to keep all the fittings as there aren=99t any more.
