Subject: | M-14P can not reach max rpm |
My M-14P can not reach 2950rpm for 2 month, sometime the high rotate speed was
around 2840rpm, sometime around 2600rpm. Are there anybody ever had this problem?
Or know how to fix this problem? Thank you.
BTW, the governor o-ring has problem, sometime oil leaked from control axes.

Assuming the blade angles have not been changedand no one has tried to
adjust the position of the arm (otherthan maybe the high pitch stop) it
sounds like your prop governor may be the problem.
If you replace the prop governor, the proper adjustment procedure is in
the M14P maintenance manual. I've attached it for your convenience.

Sometimes the push pull cable housing is not well secured and it moves
preventing full governor travel. There is a 3 leg clamp on the front of the
engine that is often the problem.
