In my experience, with a 52, an emergency bottle leak was one of the two emergency gear valves in the front or rear cockpit. There is a square o-ring around the t-fitting that deteriorates over time. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=421768#421768

Gentleman, Please read the email I received this morning from Barbara Sherlock about you father, Charles Sauermelch, a WWII Central Fire Control Gunner aboard a B-29. See http://39th.org/39th/aerial/61st/crew22a.html. She would be immensely grateful if those of you in the Philadelphia area could fly a Missing Man for her dad when the time comes in the near future. Thanks, Blitz ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: <barbarasherlock@verizon.net> Subject: Funeral for WWII veteran Dear Mr. Fox, I was doing some research on the internet and came across the Bay Squadron web page, and your contact information. As I write you this note, my father is dying. His is still of complete sound mind, but is ready to pass on as his body is now completely betraying him at almost 89 years of age. My father is a WWII veteran. He was in the Army Air Corps. If you Google Charles F. Sauermelch, it will direct you to a web page for Crew 22, 61st Squadron, 39th Bomb Group. That's my dad! He was a sergeant and a CFC Gunner. He loved airplanes then and still does to this day. When it became evident that it would soon be his time, he mentioned that having a fly over at his burial "might be a nice way to go" (quote from him). I realize the almost impossibility of this with the enormous cost involved, but I thought I would check into anyway. I know you are located in California. We are in Pennsylvania, and I was just wondering if you have any contact information for anyone in the Philadelphia area who does what you do out in California. I think it would be such a great tribute to a man who did so much and asked for so little in his lifetime. It would mean the world to my family. Anyway, thank you for what you do to honor the veterans in your area, and I appreciate any information that you could give me with regards to my request. Sincerely, Barbara Sherlock -- ... Check out the Kevlar air bottles carefully. In the aerospace industry they are life limited, they are usually a lighter bottle (thinner wall) with the Kevlar wrapping for strength. They are sensitive to fill rate (temperature rise) and number of fill cycles (stretch), but they are lighter. A 6000 lb rated bottle may never pose a problem. Frank CJ6-A

Breaker spring busted, that happens quite often. Is the rotor damaged by that broken spring? I think that you can get complete mag set repair kits, for instance at White Waltham Russian Enineering (ask Genna, top mechanic!).
